National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA)
NPIA is a non-departmental public body, funded by an annual grant in aid from the Home Office. As professional centre for police training they respond directly to the needs and demands of the police services of England and Wales to help develop policing.
Project Scope:-
1. To provide total Legionella Control and Management in accordance with HSE’s ACoP L8 and the Legionella Control Association to 6 large residential training centres.
2. To undertake small project works to ensure existing water services site infrastructure is compliant with current legal legislation.
As part of the comprehensive Facilities Management service provided to NPIA, GENEX deliver a comprehensive water management package through our in house team of accredited water management specialists, which ensures the requirements and risks associated to the control and management of legionella are effectively dealt with.
As part of this professional service we provide a comprehensive water management regime which is both accredited by the Legionella Control Association and compliant with HSE’s ACoP L8.
These services comprise of:
- Delivery of services by Category 1 member of the Legionella Control Association
- Provision of detailed and accredited legionella risk assessments.
- Provision of legionella control and management scheme in accordance with HSE’s ACoP L8.
- Legionella, TVC and pseudomonas bacterial analysis.
- Clean and chlorination of domestic water storage systems and associated down services.
- Training to both site management and clients operatives.
- Operation and control of the estates four swimming pools.
When GENEX started work on the said buildings a majority of the installed water services were identified as being non compliant with current legislation. This was rendering the sites open to frequent contamination and hence was incurring excessive water management costs. NPIA therefore engaged GENEX to identify all areas of non compliance and compile a programmed work schedule for the client, detailing the risk along with associated costs. This therefore enabled the client to schedule the programmed works in a cost and risk effective strategy.
